Review of “How to Get Anything You Want – Just Like That!”
As I have stated in previous posts, I love to read. It was a perfect opportunity when I was hired at a local bookstore. My favorite part of the job was getting customers excited about the latest book I read. I loved working there, but life changes, and we move on. I was so excited when presented with an opportunity to review a book for my readers. I was asked to read How to Get Anything You Want- Just Like that, by Janet Poole. Of course, upon finding out the name of the book I was intrigued!
I had my suspicions about the book, at first. “Is this going to be a get rich quick type of book?” Well, if you are having those reservations, I can put your mind at ease. This is not that type of book. Janet Poole believes that everyone is truly amazing; we just have to reach inside ourselves and bring it to the surface. Basically, the key to getting everything you want is to be happy, and believe that you deserve it. It is disheartening to know how many people do not believe they deserve to be happy.
Janet Poole walks us through the steps to becoming a fabulous being that is happy, and really does have the life we want and deserve. One of her key points is finding out what this life really is. We have to reach into ourselves and decide what we want, not what society thinks we should want. This is a major issue for many people. I realize now that the life I thought I wanted is not the one I have envisioned. Oddly enough, I am closer than I thought to the life that I actually want. We all need work, but the author will help you realize the true steps of getting there.
An interesting aspect of this book is that Janet Poole touches on Quantum Physics, and how it relates to our unique beings. I am not good at science, and never have been. However, I can understand the way she explains it. I also enjoyed the motivational quotes scattered throughout the book, they are nice pick me ups. I will be putting them on post-it notes and scattering them throughout my house.
Here is one activity she shares in the book. “Try this: look in a mirror and say, ‘I am precious, special, and amazing.’ Notice if this is a challenge for you. Never mind how strange this seems- you may need to pretend you mean it at first, but say it with conviction.” (Page 19)
The most important thing she teaches us to do is to look in the mirror and see this fabulous person looking back at us. We are beautiful, we are amazing, we are smart, and most of all, and we deserve the world!
My challenge to you is to use her process not only to realize just how amazing you are, but also to take your brand to the next level. Realize that your brand deserves everything, that it is amazing, and it is uniquely you!
I will not spoil any more of the book for you, but you must read it. You will not regret it. Janet Poole will help you to realize that you truly are fabulous. In addition- the author is allowing me to choose one reader to receive a free copy of the book. How Fabulous!

I have read my fair share of self-help books. Most of them leave me feeling unsatisfied because they don’t really teach me anything. That was not the case with Just Like That! It is full of insightful information that will make you re-think what you have learned from this genre in the past. With unique hints that seem to be tailored to your individual style, Just Like That! can help you barrel through the obstacles and reach your true potential. Janet’s distinct writing and powerful voice make for an educational and inspiring read.

Review of “How to Get Anything You Want – Just Like That!”
A book about discovering yourself, understanding yourself and getting over yourself. Traveling through you inner being, understanding your truest potential, and eventually finding out and achieving your goals, dreams, wants and desires, without allowing anything to hinder your progress. I suppose that I avoided reviewing this book because I had some sort of disbelief as to what it could potentially deliver to me or deliver me to. I should say that I’ve heightened my awareness, my understanding and essentially my goals for myself. I’ve learned a little more about who I am and what makes me tick, my apprehension to put my best foot forward and progress, succeed and achieve is no longer there, I want to go out and grab my goals.
Some important things to know or consider about this book!
You’re not just given the book without a clear understanding of how the book is supposed to work, it begins by opening your mind to what you are about to read, it prepares you for what you are about to endure, and gets you into the mind frame that you are who you are, and understanding and accepting who you are is all part of the process to getting what you want, Just Like That!
Now I know that we all tend to be a little apprehensive as it pertains to self-help, we are all stuck in this thinking that this is what and who I am supposed to be, we’ve adapted and accepted our lives, but consider achieving more by the mere acceptation of who you really are in life. I loved that this book takes your way of thinking and offers another look, another view, another way, I had to allow myself to not be so closed minded in order to be able to accept what this book was offering me.
It is not my intention to sit here and go through the book, tell you all the nitty gritty, bore you with MY insights, but what I will tell you is that if you achieve nothing else from the book other than pondering thoughts of other possibilities, knowing a bit more about yourself and what makes you tick, then you’ve made an achievement and step in a positive direction. I will tell you that the hardest part of the book for me was Section 2, You Are Responsible for Your Life: The statement alone speaks mountains, but it really allowed me to explore myself and really accept and acknowledge some things that I hadn’t previously considered or had enough courage to accept!

Review of “How to Get Anything You Want – Just Like That!”
I’ll have to admit, I’m not a big fan of self help books. I’ve read quite a few and unfortunately, gleaned very little information from them that truly helped me. Believe it or not, I’ve now found one that I really enjoyed AND is very helpful at the same time.
We have all probably heard the phrase, “You have to love yourself before anyone else can love you” – and usually I would say in return, “blah, blah, blah”. Not so with this book. The author does a fantastic job of helping you discover who you really are and what your weaknesses are. By discovering these things about yourself, you really can start to understand more about your motivations and how what you project, has everything to do with how you are perceived by others. Surrounding yourself with extraordinary people, thoughts and actions, will lead to a more fulfilling and well, extraordinary life!
I think we would all like to live an extraordinary life, but what if you can help others lead one as well? The author shows us how changing your own life and turning positives into negatives, can provide you with the tools to help your loved ones attain the same kind of life. Do you have one or more people in your life that literally “suck the life out of you”? Those that are in constant need of attention; are always negative or are what I call “braggers” and always have the best of everything? After reading this book you will have a better understanding of what motivates these people and how to handle yourself when these negatives start to drag you down.
I found “Just Like That!” very inspirational and although sometimes the authors very candid demeanor can seem a bit harsh, I believe we have come to the point in our society that sometimes we have to be a bit hard to open others eyes to what is going on around them.
If you want to learn how to make effortless changes in your life learn how to have control of what happens in your life, I think you will enjoy this book very much.

Review of “How to Get Anything You Want – Just Like That!”
I have seen a lot of self-help books out there. But generally, they usually say the same thing with different wording. This book is something else entirely. Just Like That is well written and paints a vivid picture for the reader, transporting them to a place of self awareness. The author does a good job reaching out to a wide audience. It begins with Poole introducing why she wrote the book, followed by a breakdown of exactly how it is laid out. At the end of each chapter, there is a summary of the key points as well as exercises to help the reader apply the information to his/her life. Poole even offers other suggested reading, if you want to dig deeper into the principles she addresses.
Just Like That, is an easy to follow, work at your own pace guide to living a better life. I personally enjoyed all the inspirational quotes throughout the text. The changes are easy enough to make if you are willing to actively put in the effort. I really like that Poole suggests instead of changing yourself to fit with the status quo of the world, love yourself, and the rest will all start to fall into place! This book is a great stepping stone for people who are sick and tired of being sick and tired. This book is great for singles, married couples, men, women, etc. There is something for everyone to take to heart from this book.
“The biggest blessing you can give someone is to accept them for who they are. Start by accepting yourself, and go with what resonates for you.” -Janet Poole

Review of “How to Get Anything You Want – Just Like That!”
An excellent book which can and will help you change your life for the better. The emphasis of the exercises and guidance in the book is all about your ‘self ‘ – How you see yourself, what pre-determined ideas and beliefs you have and how others react to your behaviour and attitude.
The author takes you through a journey and explains why and how your thoughts and behaviour have been formed. Once you recognize these traits, the author then challenges them and stresses by taking small steps these traits will start to change which will lead to bigger changes to enhance your life.
The challenges and demands which we face in our lives are cleverly broken down into chapters and for each demand/challenge the author gives you an alternative thought process to help you cope. With practice this could lead to that demand/challenge becoming less of an impact on your life and therefore eliminating that problem and as each problem is eradicated your life is enriched.
Reading this book I found myself challenging myself and through this I did feel better and gained confidence. I am sure if I keep going back to the book and using the tools and exercises that I can improve my outlook on life which is what I deserve.
This is a book which is once read must be kept close to hand for reference in case those nagging doubts come back because once re-read I am sure that will be the final end to that problem. An inspiring and easy to read book.

How To Get Anything You Want – Just Like That! Is a book by Janet Poole. At its core, the book is a self help and positive thinking book. Each chapter begins with a quote related to that chapter. Then you have some thought provoking words placed in front of you. Each chapter ends with a summary of what you just learned as well as at least one exercise to help yourself achieve the message the chapter is putting forward. Some chapters even have some “real world” situations between couples or just with a person to help and make the topic really hit home.
In order to get what you want – you must first be happy with yourself. If you’re not happy, then no one around you will be happy. You will project your unhappiness upon others and no one will want to help you meet your goals and achieve your dreams. Once you are in the right mindset and truly are yourself – you can then be free to be you and you will have a purpose.
This book is definitely very motivating and I bookmarked a couple of the exercises for me to try over the next few days, weeks and months to start feeling better about myself and gaining the confidence I need in order to get what I want! (Interestingly enough, before I started the book I was at work and didn’t really want to do what I was working on. I went to see another coworker about it and was told that I was being moved to some different duties – ones that would be much easier for me – something that I actually WANT to do. Apparently just looking at this book had it start working for me!)”

Review of “How to Get Anything You Want – Just Like That!”
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t want to know that little gem of info. We’re all searching for something, right? Needless to say, I thought I would really like this book. My background is in the helping professions and I assumed that I would find Janet Poole’s book useful and relatable. If I’m being honest, there are several excellent points in it. There were multiple times when I was scribbling in my notebook thinking, “Oh, that’s good!” or “Yes. That is absolutely important to remember.” The flip side of the coin, though is one that is not so relatable for me. For instance, the very first sentence starts off, “Did you know that you are entitled to have anything you want?” Perhaps this set the tone for the rest of the book for me since I completely disagree with everything about that sentence.
There were other things about this way of thinking that irked me, too. The author describes that each of us are gods (p. 7), a belief that is fundamentally against what I, as a Christian, believe. Poole discusses past lives and freely dishes out lots of feel good advice and tools toward getting what one wants out of the present life.
What did I like about the book? It’s food for thought. No matter what you believe, it’s important to know why you believe that. It’s important to step outside of your box and expand your mind. One of my favorite quotes says:
“It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.” – Aristotle
With that being said, the book also contains several key concepts that I wholeheartedly believe to be true. There’s an emphasis on making changes in thinking in order to create change in life. This is absolutely something that I’ve found to be true in my life and in the lives of people I’ve worked with in a counseling setting. There’s also an emphasis on loving and valuing the self which is important for self growth, in my opinion.
In addition to these pearls of wisdom, there are also summaries and exercises to accompany each chapter.”

Review of “How to Get Anything You Want – Just Like That!”
Janet Poole has had a wonderfully adventurous life but like most people, she has had her share of challenges at times. Her thinking is that it is the difficult times in life that give us the greatest learning and growth. Her love of people and her studies on our behavior have given her great insight into the inner workings of life. Her simple theory? We create what we think.
While Janet has followed alternate paths in her quest to understand life, including quantum physics, neuroplasticity, the link between brain-body-emotions, NLP Practitioner (Neuro-Linguistic Programming), Taoism, Masters of the Far East, Eckankar, nutrition and so on, this single key has become the catechism upon which she bases her life.
For this review I read her book, Just Like That. While in the “self help” genre, I felt it touched upon many aspects of life, and didn’t try to preach to me or to provide me with a strict regimen of instruction for bettering myself. It makes you think about self-awareness and I really loved the inspirational quotes that were at the beginning of each chapter. The book is easy to read, hard to put down at times, in fact. Janet is a believer in loving who you are and not trying to squeeze yourself into a box or change yourself to fit someone else’s mold or idea. If you can love yourself as you are, the rest will follow. The book is perfect not just for one type of person either, no matter who you are, where you are in life, there is something for everyone and each person will take something important away after reading it.
“The biggest blessing you can give someone is to accept them for who they are. Start by accepting yourself, and go with what resonates for you.” -Janet Poole
Would you like to live an extraordinary life and in doing so lead others to do the same? This book seeks to explain to readers the one key to having an extraordinary life and after acquiring this key, readers will not only be able to help themselves, but help others as well. I find it important to note that Janet Poole talks a great deal about breaking away from conventional thinking. She offers ancient wisdom with a modern twist to reveal the power within and uses simple scientific explanations to show readers why they can get what they want, why they are entitled to do so and how doing so helps others.
If you are feeling stuck, tired, lost – read this book and find what you are missing to make your life what you want it to be. You can find it on Amazon by clicking here: Just Like That!

I recently had the opportunity to read this book by Janet Poole. It’s basically a self-help motivational book. I love that this book tells you that you embrace yourself instead of changing yourself to fit within the world’s idea of how you should be. To be your own person and to love yourself.
This book relates to both personal and business goals, from loving yourself to creating your dream career to having children. With a few inspirational quotes, Just Like That!: How to Get Anything You Want is filled with pure wisdom. Just about anyone can benefit from it’s life lessons. This book has made me see myself in a different way to be honest. I recommend it to anyone that reads self-help books. This book has helped me realize what I want to try to do with my life.
