Almost everything we use on a daily basis is the direct result of someone’s thought or idea. Even the clothes you’re wearing.

But what do we mean by someone’s “thought” or “idea”?

It’s often overlooked that these things were created FIRST in someone’s IMAGINATION.

We all have the ability to use our imagination which means we already have in us everything it takes to create anything we want in our life!

Yet most of us don’t use this ability. Before starting school we thoroughly enjoyed using our imagination but then we were punished for daydreaming and told to pay attention.

Obviously many people use their imagination to design homes, art, write novels etc, however few adults use their imagination to DREAM of and CREATE the life they want.

Why Your Dissatisfaction with Life is Healthy

Were you ever told to be satisfied with life?
Happy with life? Absolutely. Satisfied? No.

You see, from the moment you were born you’ve been going after goals. First you wanted to crawl, then stand, then walk, then talk.

As a baby, a very natural part of you always strived for that next level of accomplishment and how great you felt each time you achieved it. How happy those around you were too.

So why do we stop striving to better ourselves?
Is it any wonder life feels so meaningless and empty?

The reason you’re born to be dissatisfied is because you’re born to be a goal achiever, always onward and upward.

Don’t fight it; embrace it.

It’s in your nature to explore and experience life, to stretch, to grow.

The path to exploring, stretching and growing is to go after something you truly want.

When we’ve stretching and giving our best, we’re at our happiest.

Do you compare yourself to others?

Do you feel you’re not good enough, that no matter how hard you try you never quite measure up?

That’s you? Well, thank goodness for that!

You’re not perfect.

I’ve realized I wouldn’t want perfection because what then, would be the purpose of life?

There’s no-one quite like you and fortunately there never will be…

…so how could you EVER compare yourself to anyone else?

BUT the beautiful little secret is…
…you can always become BETTER!

All humans naturally seek expansion and greater freedom. The adventure of life TRULY BEGINS when you allow yourself that.

Remember your FREE WILL?

This means you can “BE” whoever you want to be.

Free will means there’s never any judgement. Imagine what you’d achieve if you never judged yourself!

This means you don’t have to WAIT until you’re perfect before becoming better (and oh boy does the human race love a good reason to “wait”).

Choose to move forward NOW.

Tell yourself, “I am worth it and I’m becoming an even BETTER version of ME!”

Let’s look at nature

If nature’s not evolving what’s it doing? You got it, it’s dying.

And that’s the same with us.

What’s another word for evolving?

Yes, CREATING!

Unless you’re creating, you’re disintegrating. You’re a natural-born creator who right now isn’t even close to your true potential.

You’re more powerful and magnificent than you can imagine

I love that I am not even close to perfection because it’s been such a blast evolving this far. Believe me, I wasn’t born loving myself!!!

I’m so grateful to have discovered the truth about life because now I’m loving the adventure and living my dream. The pace picks up each day and the opportunities continue to grow.

Did you know DISSATISFACTION is in fact a powerful, creative state?

Agreed, always be grateful for what you have and who you are, but always strive to be even BETTER.

You’re starting to see a theme here I can tell : )

Have you noticed how the things you PROCRASTINATE about are those exact things that would directly benefit and enrich you?

Why the hesitancy? Because you don’t think you’re good enough or worthy of having something wonderful.

If you’re still making sure everyone else is happy before you say YES…

… if you aren’t doing what’s right for you first and foremost, then you haven’t yet understood the reasons for loving yourself first.

Why did I ensure the first chapter in my book was about loving yourself?

Because everything stems from whether you think you’re worth the investment or not.

Once you’re willing to see you’re NOT SELFISH by loving yourself first, you’ll more easily start taking action on your dreams.

You’ll stay younger and find things such as radiant health and being your ideal weight becoming a natural by-product.

Place the following sentence on your mirror and say it to yourself every day:

Say, “Listen here __(your name)__… you are precious, special and amazing… and I LOVE you.”

You’ll probably feel silly.

As ridiculous as it sounds it does take a little courage. Some people said they started crying when they said it.

I know you’re precious and I know you’re worth it!

6. DO Fail Your Way to Success

Do you allow the fear of failure to lock you into endless PROCRASTINATION?

“We can either tiptoe through life and hope we get to death without being too badly bruised or we can live a full life, complete life achieving our goals and realizing our wildest dreams.”

Failure is an interesting concept. When something goes “wrong” we think u-oh what does that mean? It merely means you’re on track moving into something better. All you MUST do is stay focused on what you want.

Do you think there are only two directions in life – failure OR success?

How do you see the world?

OR… do you see…

YOU –> –> Failure –> –> Success

Most people think failure is “EITHER/OR”.

Why does being WILLING TO FAIL help you get anything you want?

They even say “willingness” to fail isn’t enough, it’s essential to develop a “wantingness” to fail. They explain why the faster you fail and the bigger you fail, the faster you’ll achieve success.

When you embrace failure as a path to going bigger, you let go of all the angst and shame surrounding the word.

You’ll see failure as a fun adventure.

You’ll feel safe taking action.

You’ll choose to applaud every ACTION you take as a SUCCESS.

(whether or not the outcome is “seen” as success)

You only fail if you quit. Keep going and success is inevitable.

Of course, if things keep going wrong then it’s time to reassess your direction.

Everything is happening for your good. Hindsight will show you why things happened the way they did and that we’re too quick to judge!

How to fail your way to success:

1. If you’re too afraid to fail, you will never DO anything new. Keep looking for ways to ACT. Don’t wait… Do it.

7. DO Choose a GREAT Attitude… and DO keep making it even better

Why does a GREAT ATTITUDE help you get anything you want?

Attitude is VITAL !!! Without a great attitude, even the most incredible talents and education won’t get you there.

2nd comes your intelligence, education and talent

Do what you love! I’m NOT saying live a life of endless grind doing what you hate. Forget that. I AM saying decide what you want (see Part 1) and meanwhile do your best work while staying focused on where you’re going. Your thoughts become things so if you always GIVE your best, you will always GET the best. You will move into what you want.

9. DO Expand Your Perspective

Perspective is your point of view and there is ALWAYS another point of view in all situations.

Do you see INVITATION or LIMITATION?

Once you can see another viewpoint you cannot “unsee” it. Once the light is on you can’t turn it off! You are forever evolving.

Why does EXPANDING YOUR PERSPECTIVE help you get anything you want?

If you LOOK for a PROBLEM, you will FIND IT.

If you LOOK for an OPPORTUNITY, you will FIND IT.

Most people see situations only ONE way – in their limited way.

The greater your PERSPECTIVE,

the greater your CHOICES,

the greater your RESULTS.

I’ve said for years, “There’s always an answer” and I’ve always found it to be true.

What you LOOK for you will FIND.

How to expand your perspective:

1. PRETEND you can see several points of view.

I know that sounds strange but it works! Ask yourself, “If I were someone who could see two opportunities in this situation – what would they be?”

2. Dream big and you’ll be willing to see other points of view. So get that dream happening. See Part 1.

10. DO Engage Persistence

Are you persistent or do you give up?

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” ~~ Martin Luther King Jr.

I’ve put this as #10 however LACK OF PERSISTENCE is the main thing causing people to fail. Because THEY QUIT.

As already mentioned, there’s no such thing as failure (Pt.6), because it which can be viewed as many things (use Perspective Pt.9). Feedback, learning, wisdom.
But you WILL fail if you quit.

Most successful people experience some kind of setback on their journey. This is because life is fundamentally about “lessons” and a lesson is repeated until learned. Growth is why you’re here. It’s the journey that makes it fun, not just the destination.

Why does PERSISTENCE help you get anything you want?

It’s simple. Keep taking action and your success is inevitable.

Look at sport. If a basketball or soccer player didn’t keep shooting for the goal, they’d never score.

Most people give up way too easily.

PERSISTENCE will be your friend.

GROWTH your ultimate reward.

How to develop persistence:

1. Make an “advanced decision” to keep going no matter what. Just like you’d book a ticket on an airline and be there on the day no matter what.

If your mind plays tricks on you and encourages you to give up, you can say, “Well, fortunately I’ve made an advanced decision to do xyz every day no matter what.”

2. Look at Andrea and Richard’s Go for No program. This gives you perspective as well as staying power.

Study children. Notice it doesn’t matter how many times you say, “no” they don’t take it personally. They always ask one more time – just in case you’ve changed your mind.

And while you’re here…

The following will HELP YOU DO these 10 proven success activities every day.

1. DO take responsibility for your life. It’s a gift that you DO have control over how you think, feel and act. Use it!

2. DO stop conforming. The need to gain approval from others keeps most people from getting what they want. Become a powerful leader… of yourself! My book and Thinking Into Results show you how to overcome the old programming – and launch yourself into the FREEDOM you deserve.

3. DO hold your BIG EXCITING DREAM in your mind as you DO all these activities. All day, every day.

4. DO have fun. Life can be too serious. Actively look for ways to relax and laugh.

ACHIEVE THEM and feel HAPPY too!

Interestingly, these are not hard to do or complicated.

1. DON’T Be Realistic… DO Dream BIG!

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did.

As a child I remember my parents saying, Janet be more realistic. Huh? Most people buy into being realistic.

I was excited to discover that Will Smith considers being realistic the most commonly traveled road to mediocrity! Watch the video below.

Why would you be realistic? Nothing is UNrealistic!

And if you don’t have an exciting, worthwhile goal, you simply won’t be inspired to do the next 9 points.

Why does it help you to DREAM BIG?

When you’re dreaming big, your mind flips into a higher frequency and you start tapping into the power of your mind. When we have an exciting dream, life turns into fun. We’re motivated to take bold action and keep persisting.

How to DREAM BIG:

a. Ask yourself the following ENTICING QUESTIONS. I discovered them in Brian Tracy’s book “The Power of Self-Confidence” (great book by the way!)

“What one great thing would I dare to dream, if I knew I could not fail?”

“What if I was completely unafraid of anyone or anything and I felt completely free to act in my own best interests?”

b. Then phrase your dream as if you already have it.
Write it, read it every day from here on.
Why?
Your current unwanted, limited thoughts came from repetition.

Use REPETITION to program your mind for what you WANT.

“There’s no reason to have a Plan B – because it distracts from Plan A.”

2. DO Make Your Own Decisions

Now that you’re dreaming big, make a DECISION to have it. You’ll probably not know HOW you’re going to achieve it. Good.

Nor did the Wright brothers know HOW they’d fly.

But they made a DECISION to do it.

Why does making your own decisions help you?

You no longer WAIT for others to decide your life (or worse… allow your life). When you make your own decisions, you’re becoming a great leader of yourself.

Most people wait their entire life hoping to discover how to achieve what they want before they DECIDE to do it.
Except…

…the HOW never comes.

They never make the decision

and never get what they want.

The DECISION comes first.
Then the HOW arrives.

How to become a good DECISION MAKER:

Dream big. Why? Because then you’ll know what you want and where you’re going! When an opportunity appears, you can quickly and confidently say YES.

Now, some decisions are larger than others (or so we think). So, how do you know if a choice is right for you?

Ask yourself this simple question to find out:

“Do I want this?” If you do, say YES and let the how be revealed.

3. DO Develop Initiative

TAKE ONE STEP AT A TIME

Does the idea of INITIATIVE excite or scare you? Or both!

Initiative isn’t hard; it’s simply YOU TAKING ACTION – one step at a time toward achieving what you want. The journey will unfold.

“If one advances confidently in the direction of his dreams, and endeavors to live the life which he has imagined, he will meet with a success unexpected in common hours.” ~~ Henry David Thoreau

Life is not a spectator sport. If you want to enjoy life, start participating.

Why does INITIATIVE help you?

When you start taking the initiative and doing what you love, you’ll discover more of your hidden talents and abilities. These will help you go bigger.

Most people think other people have what it takes to go big. Yes they do, but YOU do as well. We all do.

Successful people are merely those who love giving life a go and BEING THEIR BEST.

They are not super-intelligent, they never went to the most expensive schools – some never even finished school!

4 Steps to develop INITIATIVE:

a. First ask yourself: “Am I ABLE to go for what I want?” The answer is always YES.

b. Then: “Am I WILLING to go for what I want?” Only you can answer that. Most people are NOT WILLING to put in any effort even if the rewards are BIG.
You can see why so many people are not getting what they want in life!

c. Look for self-development opportunities –
– Books like mine
– Decide to discover your WHY. Turn the lights on!

– Programs such as Thinking Into Results (for you and your business). This develops your initiative because you’ll start realising what you’re capable of. (incredible, amazing, magnificent things :- )

d. If you find you’re NOT taking the initiative on your own then now is the time to look at the above point… get supported and encouraged! Research shows your results are always bigger when you have someone cheering you on – and why athletes always have a coach.

4. DON’T Allow Excuses. Start DO-ING. You’ll Find a Way.

NO MORE EXCUSES – START DO-ING

Do you make excuses? Anyone who says “no” is a rare individual.

 “The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want and if they can’t find them, they make them.” ~~ George Bernard Shaw

It’s fear that lurks beneath most excuses. Bottom line however it’s still an excuse.

Why STOP MAKING EXCUSES?

You are always “Thinking Into Results” i.e. your thinking and feelings drive your actions. And actions get results.

When you start taking ACTIONS consistent with who you want to be, it strengthens your THINKING that way too.

Therefore, when you “ACT as if” you already have a certain quality the ACTION naturally causes a mental picture to form i.e. a THOUGHT.

As William James said – “Action seems to follow feelings, but really actions and feelings go together, and by regulating the action, which is under direct control of the will, we can indirectly regulate the feeling which is not.”

Think about learning to ride a bike. You didn’t know how to ride when you started out and could have made an excuse saying, “I don’t know how to ride and may get hurt.”

Instead you chose to “act as if” you could ride and hopped on the bike. You started pedaling. That ACTION naturally developed your mental picture. With repetition, you began riding automatically… and so developed the thought of “I can ride a bike.”

How to STOP MAKING EXCUSES:

a. There’s always a reason to say NO or that you CAN’T do something. Think about how you CAN. If you have a burning desire, you WILL find a way.
b. Stop making health – intelligence – time or money an excuse (see George Bernard Shaw’s quote about circumstance above)
c. Honestly ask yourself, “Is there an excuse in this?” You may not like the answer but it’s the truth.
d. “Act as if” you’re the person who CAN DO this – no excuses. Eventually you’ll be this person for real. As in the example of riding a bike.

Watch the movie “YES MAN”. You’ll get the idea. YES is a fabulous word. No excuses!

People who do better simply don’t make excuses.

5. DON’T “Try”. Just DO It!

As Yoda said in Star Wars, “Do or do not – there is no try.

When did you last say, “I tried…?”

As you read this, do a little experiment. Pick up a pencil and then… TRY to drop it. Interesting isn’t it? You either drop it or you don’t. There is no TRY.

Why does DOING instead of “TRYING” help you?

“Trying” immediately jeopardizes your results because it keeps the door open for an excuse.

DOING ensures NO excuses.

How to start DOING instead of only TRYING:

a. Ask a friend or your partner to gently remind you if they hear you use the word, “try”. Catching ourselves in the habit can be a challenge.
b. Move fear out of the way. The only way you conquer fear is to DO the thing you fear. It may sound counter-intuitive but take it from me who has experienced sheer terror in many of the things I’ve wanted to.

Insist on taking firm steps forward, even if they’re small. You will ultimately succeed.
