We never “fail”… we’re just afraid we might.
(and who decides it’s “failure” because really and truly there’s no such thing : )
Even if you said you’d failed I’d say, “Congratulations – you’re moving… many are stuck so far back in fear, they might never move! You’re already further ahead.”
Today I’m emphasizing the advantages of MOVING INTO ACTION, that even if you make mistakes you’re still further ahead.
I’m also giving you an easy technique, to get you moving.
“Courage is being scared to death – and saddling up anyway.”
~~ John Wayne
The great thing about MOVING is it’s easier to change direction.
Imagine a vehicle.
– How hard is it to change direction while standing still? Very hard.
– How hard is it to change direction while moving? Very easy.
Studies show that people who achieve what they want, do it through trial and error.
Yes, a mistake is an indicator of success
How successful can you be if you’re DOING NOTHING?
Today I have some words of wisdom from Dr Maxwell Maltz author of Psycho-Cybernetics and below you’ll see a great technique I use – that you can start using today.
I was intrigued when I first heard that a rocket arrives at its destination through a series of mistakes (it fails its way there?) and that our subconscious mind is a mechanism operating in a similar way.
“Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.”
~~ Albert Einstein
According to Dr Maltz, our subconscious is in fact a “machine” we use.
We direct this machine using our conscious mind.
So, how is the mechanism in a rocket similar to your subconscious mind?
Have a look at this interesting list of similarities:
- They are both goal-striving mechanisms.
- They are both impersonal (your subconscious mind does not see things as good or bad it just goes ahead and creates your outside world according to your thinking – whether that serves you or not)
- They must both be moving to get to their goal (sounds obvious yet most people don’t move)
- They both reach their destination (goal) through trial and error. When they go forward, they make mistakes and correct their course. They are therefore further ahead.
- They must both be allowed to get on with the job without interference (i.e. no forcing, anxiety or over-thinking from us : )
- They both act in “the now” (not past or future) In other words i.e. act only on the opportunities you see right now.
Let’s talk more about moving and trial and error
So many people are still stuck… terrified of making a mistake.
Most people wait until they’re 100% certain about everything before moving.
Therefore they never DO anything.
By taking a step in the wrong direction you’ll get faster results because once you’re moving you can quickly make corrections.
“The greatest mistake a man can make is to be afraid of making one.”
~~ Elbert Hubbard
New directions will be revealed to you once you’re moving!
“Every wrong attempt is another step forward.”
~~ Thomas Edison
Do something differently starting today
Release the pressure by removing the emotion.
If there’s something you’d like to do, but you’re anxious about it e.g. say you want to go for a job interview, see your manager about your salary or perhaps you’d like to ramp up your business by meeting with more customers.
Step 1. Set your intention
i.e. the outcome you’d like from the meeting.
What do you WANT?
You’ll start feeling inspired… and you’ll be inspired to take action.
Step 2. Let go of the outcome by removing the emotion.
Now say to yourself, “What’s important here is I have the meeting. I must at least be there. If I mess it up it doesn’t matter.”
Part of you may say, “If I mess it up I’ll never get another chance.”
Not true – if you understand quantum physics you’ll know why.
For a layman’s intro to quantum physics, see my book How to Get Anything You Want – Just Like That!
So, allow there to be an “ISness” about the meeting – not good, not bad.
This way you won’t care if you succeed or “fail”. You’ll have nothing to lose.
Why does this work?
1. The key is in the action you take.
To succeed, you only need to keep taking action i.e. be at the meeting. If you keep taking action toward your goal you will succeed.
This way you’re getting yourself in the meeting without all the usual pressure to be perfect.
Remember there will always be more opportunities, more customers as long as you keep showing up. (it’s called persistence : )
Another plus: Every time you show up, you’re gaining wisdom, improving your skill and your confidence!
Note: I want to say this about taking action.
You are so powerful that you have the potential to manifest exactly what you want in the palm of your hand – without taking ANY action.
Always remember that (again see my book How to Get Anything You Want – Just Like That!)
However, most of us still need to ACT to move forward and then allow the magic to happen.
2. Even if you pretend you don’t care, you’ll automatically strive for success.
Your subconscious mind knows your real goal AND you have what Dr Maltz calls a “success instinct”.
Remember it’s your natural state to be magnificent.
3. A good feeling of relaxation always gives you greater results.
You’ll get what you want without the angst.
4. Finally, when I’m nervous about something new, I play this game
I know it works because it gets me to take action and achieve the results I want : )
So Remember…
Every step you take is a success, even if you don’t see it as such.
To get to your goal more quickly:
1. Focus on what you WANT
2. Keep TAKING ACTION toward your goal
3. CARE LESS about the outcome
4. Remember to HAVE FUN – life is meant to be enjoyed!
P.S. Ultimately, life is about your growth, your evolution. If you learn from a situation then you’re growing and you are therefore a success!
Go for it and never hold back!

Thinking into Results is a program that encourages outrageous fantasies and then shows you how to 100% live them!
What others are saying about Thinking into Results
In my mind I can clearly see the “before and after photo” – Before doing Thinking into Results I wasn’t grateful I am me, now I am.
Thinking into Results is a program that gives you a process to build your dream, your vision. For example, with a jigsaw puzzle we often know how to build the frame, but what do we put in the middle? Thinking into Results teaches you HOW to put the middle together efficiently, instead of randomly.
If I didn’t have Thinking into Results I don’t know where I’d be, this program guided me through these most challenging circumstances by helping me focus and change my attitude, giving me tools to turn the situation into what I wanted.
~~ J. Farrar “Kooringal” Dubbo, NSW
I’m so thrilled because I used to have so many questions but no answers, and because this program is so structured and so straightforward, it answered my questions and gave my thoughts structure.
The big difference for me too is the encouragement from Janet – I loved our sessions, she created life in the material for me, supported me into remarkable achievements and showed me how to apply the principles so I can continue creating my happy life.
I love my new life, I know I’m on track, I know how to go forward and I’ve got the confidence to do anything.
